Our squadron received two boxes full of goody bags to help us celebrate the upcoming Fourth of July. You may be pleased to know that within an hour of the boxes arrival, several grown men and women were seen having a spontaneous moment of fun attacking each other with the included squirt guns. The goody bags are a huge hit, I heard many co-workers exclaim out loud, "Wow!" and "Cool!" as they saw the thoughtfully packed items. Especially of value are the "cool" bandannas, which were put into use immediately as the average temperature here stays in the high 90 to 115 range at minimum. I also saw a quick pick-up game played with some frisbees on break. Please tell everyone who had a part just how grateful we all are. I was lucky enough to get a bag with a wonderful card signed by Emily Dimmond, filled with great pictures of hearts, stars and a flag. It made my day!

Sincerely,
SSgt. Kelly J. Kenoyer

I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank you for the birthday bags. It was great just to hear from the pacific northwest. I have a soldier from Portland OR. and I am from Grants Pass OR.  I can honestly say we really miss it there.  Anyway the soldiers in my unit really enjoyed the bags and treats.  In fact a few of us tossed around one of the frisbees for about 20 minutes.  It was fun even in the 120 degree temp.  It was wild watching the wind and thermals toss the frisbee.  It would fly perfect then start going up and down like on a string still flying straight on. I t was really fun and we had a good laugh.  So again from all of my soldiers and I ..... Thank you. I wish you all a long and happy summer.

My flight received a care package from your organization today and I just wanted to say Thank You Very Much, it really made my Airmen's day to open it up and see all the wonderful Fourth of July gifts that were sent from home!  It was especially touching to see that the package was sent from Sammamish, my parents live on the Plateau, so it's extra special for me as well to see your group is from my hometown.  All of us here greatly appreciate everything, thank you again.

Happy Birthday America and Let Freedom Reign!   We have completed our packout for the 4th of July and it couldn’t have been possible without the tremendous support from our patriot volunteers – young and old. Congressman Dave Reichert stopped by and Attorney General Rob McKenna and his family came and assisted in packing.  So thank you to everyone who  participated in this worthwhile event!

We exceeded our adoption goal of 5000 troops – with a final total of 5,131 packages being sent to our brave men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.   The troops appreciate our support, but we cannot thank them enough for their service and sacrifice which allows all of us to enjoy the freedom we have while living in the greatest country in the world. God bless all of our fine men and women serving our country!
