I am a soldier serving in northern Iraq. We, being my platoon, received your care packages and Christmas stockings.  I can tell you they were very thoughtful and much appreciated.  It is because of great Americans like you and your organization that make coming here and fighting for our country a little easier.  I want to thank you on behalf of my platoon.  I realize it might not be easy to support the war or support the president but thank you for supporting the troops on the ground serving in Iraq.

Thank you and all who contributed to send stockings and stuff to our Troops for the holidays. It went a long way to fill the void of being away from family and friends. I'm the 1SG of a Cavalry Troop and each of our Soldiers received at least one stocking, several cards, and other items of support, not only from your group, but from others around the country, but since we're out of Ft Lewis, your support had a little extra meaning to it. If there is anyway you can pass on to the many who adopted/supported us for the holidays, please let them know how much we appreciate their efforts and kindness.

Cheers,

Leilani sent me some pictures that you will probably want on your website.

She put names on the stockings and hung them up.  I guess she had a hard time keeping soldiers out of their stockings.  She finally downloaded an article about a woman that stabbed her husband for peeking in his stocking.  So they might stay our of their stockings. LOL

Thank you for putting your life into our soldiers!

I hope all is well to you, your family and the OSOT company. We have just received the packages in the mail that your company has graciously sent for our troops.  I know this gift alone, will put a smile, lift there morale and bring some of the holiday spirit to them while they are away from home.

I have the youngest company (battery) in the Squadron, average age is 23, but they have the biggest heart also. I am so very proud of them, thou I don't show it, most of the time (to keep them alert and on there feet all the time).

The unit that we are currently in was located in Ft Lewis, the old 1/25 Infantry Div, we re-flagged to 2SCR upon returning from Iraq 2005 and relocated to Vilseck, Germany. I am assigned to return to Ft Lewis 2009, hopefully I will get to meet you and the OSOT family.

On behalf of my Commander, the Men and one woman from Charlie Battery, Fires Squadron 2SCR, thank you for your continued support and prayers.  We definitely couldn't celebrate this holiday season without your support.

Happy Holidays, and God Bless.

Merry Christmas!

I just received my stocking from your organization. Thank you so much! The fleece beanie is going to come in very handy as I recently lost mine on a mission, and am heading back up north where it is very cold.

I am honored that there are Americans who care so much about us over here.

I am a National Guardsman from Oregon, and have been deployed to Northern Iraq for a little over 4 months now as an Army photojournalist.  It is a great job, and I can tell you first hand that good things are happening here, and we are making a difference.

Thank you again for the thoughtful gift. Merry Christmas to you all, and God Bless.

Sincerely,

Just a little note to let you know that our office (the Combined Review & Release Board) received the two big boxes that you sent yesterday.  Thank you so much! I immediately handed out the stockings to our office members, and they were really touched and very appreciative. I am going to hold on to the wrapped packages and hand them out to everyone on Christmas morning, and I know that they will really enjoy that. We decided to donate the stuffed toys to the Marine Corps' Toys for Tots program here. Just like in the U.S., they are running a similar program here in Iraq, but will be handing out the toys to Iraqi children throughout the country here. Since we don't come into contact with many children (we rarely leave our compound), we felt that this would be the best way to get these toys to the kids.

Please let all of your helpers know that we really enjoyed the goodies!

It feels so good to know that we are supported.  Thanks again!!

WOW!  WOW!  WOW!

I just received three boxes full of stockings that are stuffed with stuff that we can give out to the soldiers on our base LSA Anaconda, Iraq.

I am very excited about this because Lieutenant Colonel Kelli Grumelot, from our section, is putting together our Holiday Showcase that will be held in our 750 person theater.

We plan on giving the stockings out to the lower enlisted first and we are totally excited about your gifts and being able to do this.

This is so exciting that our section will be writing return thank you letters to the cards that have addresses.

Thank you so much for the stockings and Santa hats, we in the G5 section of the 316 Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) are very blessed to have you supporting us.

 Sincerely

and again on December 22, 2007:

You are so awesome I could hug and kiss your cheek!!!

I am so blessed you sent me two boxes of Seattle’s Best Coffee.

That is my favorite.

It is 1630 and we opened a bag and are making a pot as I type.

I cant wait, you and your organization are so awesome!!!!!!

Thank you.

Let me say thank you, thank you, thank you!  In April I sent you the name and address of my husband, CPT Jason Pardee, who is deployed with 4th Brigade.  I was able to speak with him today and he said, "Guess what I got in the mail today?"  And my response was, "My 2 boxes I sent you?"  And his response was, "No. Five enormous boxes full of stuff from Operation Support Our Troops.  It was so cool!"  He has started dispersing the contents of the boxes.  I will see if he can take some pictures, and if so, I will send them to you.  What little bit of home and Christmas they get over there is so meaningful and really boosts their morale.

So, again, thank you, thank you, thank you.  In a society filled of protests and people seemingly against our troops, the support Operation Support Our Troops has given and will continue to give to our men and women deployed literally brings tears to my eyes and warmth to my heart. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Jenny Pardee

I would like to thank you and everyone from OSOT that had anything to do with all of the packages that were sent to 4-9IN here in Iraq, we appreciate it greatly.  Every Soldier here will get to enjoy the items that your organization sent. I hope to be able to send some pictures of some of the guys receiving their Christmas presents. Fortunately for me, I get to take some leave in a week or so, and it may be a while until I can send them.

As I'm sure you know, we (4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment) are one of the Battalions from 4th BDE, 2ID and have been deployed since April. We are currently still at Camp Taji, north of Baghdad, while the rest of the BDE has moved further north.  We will eventually move and re-join the BDE sometime after the New Year.  Our Battalion has lost 6 Soldiers during the deployment thus far, and the first few months were very hectic and stressful and resulted in the vast majority of our casualties. In the past few months we have seen a dramatic change, and the progress that we, collectively with the Iraqis (civilian and military) have made has been inspiring.

Once again I would like to Thank you and everyone that supports us.  It's great to know that while many people may oppose what we are doing, there are organizations and people that are willing to show their support. Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Respectfully,
CPT Jason Pardee

Last night we received stockings from your group.  We talked about how much consideration and thought you folks put into them.

My soldiers are extremely busy and under a lot of stress right now.  Your gift reminded them who we are fighting for over here and what we have to look forward to when we go home.

I encouraged them to write and tell you thanks.  For those that fail to do so, I can assure you they are grateful.

Thank you for the gift and your thoughts and prayers.

I received some items from OSOT.

Thank you for taking the time and effort to provide a few comforts to the Soldiers and Paratroopers deployed to forward areas.

I am deployed in support of the Baghdad Security Plan with 2-325 Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division since January 2, 2007 on a 15 month deployment. We live in a combat outpost in the middle of Baghdad.

Again - thank you for your support.

Members of OSOT,

I am writing to extend the thanks and gratitude on behalf of my unit (HHC 2/325 82nd ABN DIV) and myself. It means a great deal to us not only to receive the stocking and gifts, but to know that there are people like you that will go that extra mile to show your support and patriotism.

We have been in Iraq for 11 months and still have 4 to go.  Unlike most of the units here, our living conditions aren't all that great.  As of a few months ago we now get one hot meal a day and a shower every day.  Times were really hard before we got those.  There are no stores so everything that we have is sent to us by friends or family.  Having said this, I hope you can truly understand how much we did appreciate everything from you guys.  It brought joy and a little Christmas spirit to everyone here.  Thanks again and God bless.

Thank you for the box of stuffed animals and Christmas stockings I received. The great things your organization does for the troops all over the world is greatly appreciated. The stuffed animals we took and handed them out to all the Iraqi children who are stationed with their families on the complex here with us. The fathers of these children are the Iraqi police officers we are training. It's a sad sight to see because these families don't have much, so to see the kids faces when they receive gifts like these warms your heart. I again can't tell you enough how much we appreciated it, keep up the good work and have a happy holidays. God Bless

Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!

We sent 8,123 handmade Christmas stockings to 60 different units deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan and Qatar for Santa's Soldiers 2007.  These units consisted of the 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team from Fort Lewis, WA, Tennessee National Guard,  Arizona National Guard, Minnesota National Guard and Pennsylvania Army Reserve . . . to name a few.  We adopted units from all across America and from Vilsek, Germany and Vicenza, Italy too!  We covered them all . . . Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen!

And, of course, we couldn't have accomplished all of this without everyone who turned out at the Anderson Barn to help stuff those Christmas stockings and wrap those Christmas gifts!  To see all of the smiling faces of our volunteers, please follow this link.

Diane Anderson reports that a total of 16,772 stockings were made!  Those that weren't sent to our Troops deployed overseas will all be put to very good use . . . they will be used for our wounded warriors at Fort Lewis and the rest will be saved for Christmas 2008.  Stockings came from California, Maryland, Oklahoma, Florida, Pennsylvania, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon and, of course, Washington being the largest contributor.  The list of women who took the time to sew is extremely long but certainly not exhaustive as many of the women called friends to join in the sewing project for the Troops.  A heartfelt thank you to all of these seamstresses as the handmade Christmas stockings truly make Santa's Soldiers so special!

The cards that came in with heartfelt messages were as in abundance as were the stockings. There were several schools here in Washington and one in Idaho and one in Florida and all the Girl Scout, Boy Scout, Cub Scout and Brownie groups along with youth groups and church groups who provided Christmas greetings for our Troops.  Many individuals and families provided wonderful messages of support to our Troops too.  Our Troops love hearing from you!

The number of in-kind donations was amazing and as they came, hearts were lifted by the generosity of all.

We had strong support from many different arenas and we are so grateful to everyone for their continued, positive support of our Troops.  Friendship, love and support has been shown by thousands.  Here are just a few we would like to publicly acknowledge for their support (This is by no means an exhaustive list, but to the best of our recollection.  If we have neglected to acknowledge someone, please let Sheryl know so we can add them to our list):
